Parametric Design Optimization Using Genetic Algorithms

       

This research is to develop a tool that can be used for the optimal daylighting design. The programs, Rhino and Grasshopper, are used for the parametric design process. Diva for Rhino is a tool for energy modeling and simulation. For the daylighting performance, the Radiance program is used. The Galapagos program is for the optimization process based on Genetic Algorithms (GAs). These programs are integrated to find optimal daylighting solutions, such as Useful Daylighting Illuminance (UDI).
