Bio

Ghazal Kamyabjou is a PhD candidate in the PhD in Design program, currently working on her research under supervision of Dr. Jeremiah Johnson in the College of Civil and Environmental Engineering and Dr. Soolyeon Cho in the PhD in Design program. She is committed to improving the efficiency of electricity systems through data-driven decision making. With expertise in building energy modeling and machine learning, Ghazal is using data driven methods to analyze vast amounts of electricity data, with the aim of optimizing power planning and decision making for emerging countries. She is passionate about using technology to tackle real-world challenges and is eager to bring this expertise to industry partners and policymakers.

Ghazal received a bachelor’s degree in Physics from Amirkabir University of Technology and a master’s degree in Energy and Architecture from University of Tehran, Iran. In her spare time, She enjoys working as a volunteer in an animal shelter and also being in nature. Ghazal is passionate about advancing the field of electricity data analysis. She is devoted to using her expertise and experience to contribute to the future of power planning and promote energy justice.
