Sedighehsadat (Nasim) Mirianhosseinabadi

Bio

Mrs. MirianHosseinAbadi is a Ph.D. student of the College of Design at NC State University with an emphasis on Building Energy Modeling and Environmental Design in Architecture. She received her Master’s degree in Low Energy Architecture from University of Tehran and Bachelor’s degree in Solid State Physics from University of Tehran, Iran. She also got an Associated Degree in Civil Architecture from Nahavand Higher Education Institute, Tehran, Iran, during her undergraduate studies.

During her graduate and undergraduate studies in UT, she has done researches in the fields of energy conservation in buildings, Earth Tubes and Ground Source Heat Pumps application and modeling in school buildings.

As a Ph.D. student in the field of Building Energy Technology in College of Design at North Carolina State University (NCSU), her research interest area is about performance simulation for the design and development of sustainable buildings using EnergyPlus, energy savings calculation, building energy management systems and energy-efficient systems design and renewable energy systems integration.  Her first research concentrated on analyzing the effects of natural ventilation in the design of the Haitian housing complex; the design is focused on the passive strategies using the EnergyPlus simulation program and the second research focused on the development of the Ground Source Heat Pump technology applications in buildings.

She is currently conducting research on “Development of Technologies for Real-Time Performance M&V and Commissioning Using BAS and/or BEMS in Existing Buildings” under the advisory of Dr. Soolyeon Cho.

Mrs, MirianHosseinAbadi also has experience of using professional energy tools such as Ecotect, EnergPlus, Design Builder and MATLAB to calculate and analyze the energy performance of the buildings.
